It’s with a heavy heart that we report that Dave Keady, 51, senior vice president with the Retail Division of HSA Commercial Real Estate, passed away yesterday morning. A 15-year veteran of HSA, Dave will be remembered as a diligent, sharp-witted broker who worked painstakingly to ensure that the hardest deals were done right, and he will also always be regarded in our office as one of the most genuinely likeable and compassionate people to ever work on our team.

“Affectionately known as The Curator, Dave was extraordinarily detailed-oriented and focused,” said Tim Blum, managing director of the Retail Division. “He worked hard and never expected the unearned. His varied skills made him indispensable to me and the various projects he worked on.”

Dave had a successful 20-year career in real estate, primarily as a retail tenant rep broker where he worked with such clients as Potbelly Sandwich Works and Chicago Home Fitness. As a result of his skills and dedication, Dave’s career progressed within the company, and he became involved as both an investor and leasing representative for HSA’s retail development projects. Most recently, Dave worked on the leasing for Phase 1 of the 270,000-square-foot Mayfair Collection shopping center where he helped to secure leases with many significant national tenants.

Dave is survived by his wife Judy and his two sons, Jack and Aidan. All of our thoughts are with Dave’s family at this time.
