HSA’s Finance Division provides clients with a comprehensive analysis of the property they currently own, plan on purchasing, developing or redeveloping. Our vast network and personal relationships with lenders and real estate professionals allows us to close financing transactions efficiently where other finance companies might fail. The Finance Brokerage Division, led by Melissa Pielet, has been an intricate part of the acquisition, development and redevelopment of over 67 million square feet of real estate with a market value of over $2.5 billion.

Experience
Since joining HSA, Pielet has arranged financing for more than 50 million square feet of commercial real estate in excess of $3 billion and has been involved in the acquisition, development and financing for business parks in multiple markets nationwide. Representative projects Pielet has been involved with include a 400,000-square-foot redevelopment for a City of Chicago maintenance facility; a 40,000- square-foot, built-to-suit headquarters for First of America Bank; four downtown Chicago retail redevelopments totaling 550,000 square feet and four senior housing facilities.
Prior to joining HSA, Pielet was with Heller Real Estate Financial Services.

Melissa S. Pielet is head of HSA's Finance Division and responsible for all of HSA Commercial's real estate developments and acquisitions, including procuring acquistion and development loans, construction financing, permanent financing, joint ventures, and lines of credit. Pielet also manages all of HSA's 13 million square feet of owned assets, with respect to financial servicing matters.
Douglas K. Jones Assistant Vice President in the Finance Division
Experience
Since joining HSA in 2005, Jones has assisted in analyzing financing for more than 9.0 million square feet of commercial real estate development valued at $420 million. He has been involved in analyzing the acquisition and development for such projects as the Memphis industrial portfolio purchased by HSA in 2007 (more than 1.9 million square feet), a HSA industrial development in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (500,000 square feet), and the refinancing of a HSA owned mixed-use development in Brown Deer, Wisconsin (720,000 square feet).

Douglas K. Jones works directly with the firm's senior management to identify potential acquisitions as part of HSA's overall national strategy to develop and acquire commercial investment properties. Mr. Jones also works directly with the firm’s executive vice president of finance in analyzing both new and existing properties owned by HSA as well as third-party owners for purposes of acquisition, development, leasing and financing.
